The Indonesian Institute of the Arts Bali (ISI BALI) received a visit from Kazuki Takahashi, Coordinator of The Association for Overseas Technical Cooperation and Sustainable (AOTS), on Friday (4 September 2026). Held at the Sabha Citta Mahottama Room (Teleconference), Design Hub, ISI BALI, the visit formed part of the follow-up to the implementation of the International Certified Creative Internship Program, a collaborative initiative between ISI BALI, the Hasami Ceramic Industry Cooperative Association, and BESTie Co., Ltd., Japan.
During the visit, Kazuki Takahashi held discussions with Nengah Sudika Negara, M.Erg., Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design at ISI BALI, together with the Vice Dean and the organizing committee of the International Certified Creative Internship Program. The meeting discussed ISI BALI’s expectations regarding the implementation of the international internship program, as well as efforts to strengthen the collaboration to ensure that the program provides optimal benefits for students and can be continuously developed in a sustainable manner.
The intensive training for the International Certified Creative Internship Program is attended by 25 seventh-semester students from the Craft Arts, Fine Arts, and Product Design Study Programs. The participants were selected through a selection process conducted by ISI BALI in collaboration with its Japanese ceramic industry partners.
The 25 participating students are I Gusti Ayu Wijayanti P., Ida Made Gaodya Rendraswara, I Dewa Bagus Wahyu, I Wayan Aria Santosa, Rayna Najla K., I Wayan Aria Sisya N., Martha, I Made Sofyan, Zefanya Awan B., Ni Wayan Arianti Dewi, Arwen Jennifer P., Ni Luh Dewi Kusuma W., I Komang Aryawan, Cokorda Gede Raka Wisma W., Ni Luh Putu Karina Praba D., I Putu Ranu Weda W., I Kadek Agus Adi W., I Kadek Sudana, Ni Kadek Karini A., Adi Purnama Yoga, I Wayan Adi Wiryatama, I Kadek Fajar N., Alfridus Moensaku, I Kadek Calvin Y., and I Gst. Ngurah Putu Diva.
The intensive training at ISI BALI covers Japanese language instruction, Hasami ceramic techniques, ceramic production technology, 3D product design, and various other supporting subjects. The training is designed not only to enhance students’ technical competencies but also to develop their communication skills, cultural adaptability, discipline, and readiness to work in an industrial environment governed by professional and international standards.
Upon completion of the training and following an evaluation process, eight of the highest-performing participants will be selected to undertake an international internship program in Hasami City, Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan. Hasami is recognized as one of Japan’s important ceramic production centers. The internship experience is expected to broaden students’ understanding of production processes, design innovation, workplace culture, and developments in Japan’s ceramic industry.
Meanwhile, the remaining 17 participants will undertake internships with reputable domestic craft arts industry partners. Through this scheme, all participating students will have the opportunity to apply their academic competencies in professional practice, whether through industrial experience in Japan or Indonesia.
