The Indonesian Institute of the Arts Bali (ISI BALI) is intensifying preparations for 12 students who will represent Bali Province at the 18th National Student Arts Week (Peksiminas XVIII) 2026. The national-level student arts competition will be held from September 8–12, 2026, at the University of Jember (UNEJ), East Java.
The 12 students previously achieved first place at the Bali Provincial Student Arts Week (Peksimida Bali). Based on this achievement, they were selected to represent Bali Province at the national-level Peksiminas XVIII competition.
Ahead of their departure, the ISI BALI contingent has continued to undertake intensive preparations through training sessions and the refinement of competition materials in their respective categories. The preparations were also complemented by a rehearsal held at the Natya Mandala Hall, ISI BALI, on Wednesday (3/9), as part of the evaluation and final preparation before the students compete at the national level.
Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Cooperation of ISI BALI, Prof. Dr. Komang Sudirga, stated that the ISI BALI contingent has been preparing seriously for Peksiminas XVIII. The preparations have been conducted collaboratively by students, supervising lecturers, and accompanying lecturers to ensure that participants are fully prepared, both technically and mentally, to face a national-level competition.
“The ISI BALI contingent has been preparing seriously. After achieving first place at Peksimida Bali, the students have continued to refine their preparation through training sessions with supervising and accompanying lecturers. We hope that this preparation will provide them with optimal support so that they can perform with confidence and deliver their best at Peksiminas,” said Prof. Dr. Komang Sudirga.
He further emphasized that participation in Peksiminas is not solely an opportunity to achieve competitive success, but also provides students with valuable experience in competition, opportunities to develop their creativity, and a platform to strengthen their confidence and artistic capacities at the national level.
The 12 ISI BALI students will compete in six competition categories. They include Zahid Zahendra from the Study Program of Performing Arts Education in the Dangdut Singing category; Sri Agung Wulandewi Putri Laksana from the Study Program of Music in the Women’s Keroncong Singing category; and I Kadek Ariandi Triana Putra Widi Nugraha from the Study Program of Visual Communication Design in the Poetry Reading category.
In the Dance category, ISI BALI is represented by a team consisting of Ida Ayu Adi Tri Wiranti, Ni Kadek Dhya Sumitha Apsari, Ni Nengah Diah Tantri, Made Githa Sanjiwani, I Made Wahyu Danutirtha, I Putu Gede Pradipta Utama, and G. Ngr. Bagus Andika Prasetya. The team won first place at Peksimida Bali and will subsequently represent Bali Province at Peksiminas XVIII.
Meanwhile, Ni Luh Made Bindi Hita from the Study Program of Animation won first place in the Comic Strip category. A similar achievement was attained by Insan Kamis from the Study Program of Photography, who won first place in the Documentary Photojournalism category.
With intensive preparations underway, the ISI BALI contingent is expected to perform at its best at Peksiminas XVIII. Beyond the aspiration to achieve outstanding results, the students are also expected to demonstrate the creativity and artistic excellence of Bali’s students while bringing honor to Bali Province and ISI BALI at the national level.
