Postgraduate Program
MASTER AND DOCTORAL
The Postgraduate Program at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Bali is one of the academic units established under the Regulation of the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia Number 28 of 2025 concerning the Organizational Structure of the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Bali, Article 11 paragraph (2). This program serves as a platform for the advancement of knowledge, artistic creation, and advanced research in the fields of art, design, art education, and arts management.
At present, the Postgraduate Program at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Bali offers six study programs: the Master of Art Program, the Master of Design Program, the Master of Art Education Program, the Master of Arts Management Program, the Doctor of Art Program, and the Doctor of Design Program.
Through these six programs, the Postgraduate Program of the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Bali serves as an academic space that not only preserves and develops traditional arts but also encourages students to innovate, collaborate, and produce works and research that are relevant to contemporary developments.
VISION
The Postgraduate Program of the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Bali serves as a higher education institution in the fields of art, design, arts governance, and arts education, offering Master’s and Doctoral programs that are distinctive in character, excellent in quality, and globally reputable.
MISION
• To provide Master’s and Doctoral education in the fields of Art, Design, Arts Governance, and Arts Education through multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary, and transdisciplinary approaches that are distinctive in character, excellent in quality, and globally reputable.
• To conduct research in Art, Design, Arts Governance, Arts Education, and related disciplines with outputs that achieve national and international recognition.
• To carry out community service in the fields of Art, Design, Arts Governance, Arts Education, and related disciplines that delivers tangible benefits to society.
• To develop organizational, asset, and resource governance within the Postgraduate Program that is transparent, efficient, accountable, and reliable.
• To establish and implement academic and non-academic collaborations with Master’s and Doctoral education ecosystems and global entrepreneurship networks.

STUDY PROGRAM
Master Program in Arts
The Postgraduate Program in Art Studies (PS-SPM) has received an A accreditation rating from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT). This accreditation certificate is valid for five years, from January 31, 2023, to January 31, 2028, serving as evidence of the program’s excellence in academic quality, governance, and scholarly contributions in the field of art.
Master Program in Design
The Master of Design Study Program features highly qualified lecturers who are experts in their respective fields. The development of design as an academic discipline is presented inclusively through a curriculum that provides depth in the dialectics of design.
Master Program in Art Educaiton
The Master’s Program in Art Education is designed to facilitate creative, critical, solution-oriented, functional, professional, integrative, and inclusive processes in the development of art education as a field of study. The final product of this program is a thesis that focuses on the study of art and cultural education phenomena in the Indonesian archipelago, along with its various systems of transmission.
Master Program in Arts Management
The Arts Management Study Program (PSTKS) offers two areas of specialization designed strategically to meet both academic and professional needs in the field of arts management: Arts Management Studies and Arts Administration. The Arts Management Studies specialization focuses on theoretical, methodological, and analytical approaches to various phenomena of arts, cultural, and traditional management. Its goal is to foster a deep and critical understanding of arts management practices within social, historical, and philosophical contexts.
Doctoral Program in Arts
The Doctoral Program in Art at ISI Denpasar is located in the Province of Bali, which is distinguished by its unique arts and culture serving as the foundation for culturally based education development. The strong culture of tolerance and the renowned hospitality of the Balinese people provide a conducive environment for researchers to conduct their studies. Moreover, Bali serves as a living laboratory of Indonesian culture, offering rich opportunities for learning, research, and community engagement.
Doctoral Program in Design
The Doctoral Program in Design at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Denpasar focuses on design studies and creation through multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary, and transdisciplinary approaches. The program explores the diversity of design disciplines—including interior design, visual communication design, fashion design, product design, architecture, landscape design, as well as various digital and conventional design fields.
