DesCRIPTION
Postgraduate Program – Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Bali
The Master’s Program in Arts Management at the Postgraduate School of the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Bali was officially established by the Decree of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia No. 863/E/O/2023, dated 6 November 2023, regarding the Licensing for the Opening of the Master’s Program in Arts Management at ISI Denpasar.
In accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia No. 28 of 2025 concerning the Organization and Governance of ISI Bali, the Master’s Program in Arts Management is administered under the Postgraduate School as the Program Managing Unit (UPPS). The primary duties and functions of the Arts Management Study Program (PSTKS) are to implement the Master’s curriculum as outlined in the Rector’s Regulation of ISI Denpasar No. 16 of 2023 on the Curriculum of the Master’s Program in Arts Management.
The program consists of 40 (forty) credits or 42 (forty-two) credits for students required to take matriculation courses, distributed over four (4) semesters. The expected learning outcomes are aligned with Presidential Regulation No. 8 of 2012 on the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (KKNI).
The program offers two specialization tracks, strategically designed to meet both academic and professional demands in the field of arts management:

Arts Management Studies, which focuses on theoretical, methodological, and analytical approaches to the study of arts, culture, and traditional governance, aiming to foster a deep and critical understanding of arts management practices in their social, historical, and philosophical contexts; and

Creative Arts Administration, which emphasizes creative processes in the practice of arts management that are relevant to contemporary developments.
Based on the Decree of the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) No. 171/SK/BAN-PT/Ak.P/M/II/2025, the Master’s Program in Arts Management has been accredited with a “Good” rating. This accreditation is valid for two years from February 4, 2025.
VISION
The Master’s Program in Arts Management at ISI Bali serves as a center of excellence for the development of knowledge and practice in the management of Indonesian arts, design, and culture, with the aim of producing expert, character-driven, outstanding, and reputable graduates.
MISSION

To develop knowledge and practices in the governance of Indonesian arts, design, and culture based on research that contributes meaningfully to both society and academic advancement, while gaining national and international recognition.

To solve problems in the field of arts, design, and cultural management in Indonesia through interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary approaches.

To demonstrate the ability to manage Indonesian arts, design, and culture in an innovative and evidence-based manner.
Graduate Profile
Researcher
A knowledgeable, ethical, outstanding, and reputable arts, design, and cultural governance scholar, projected to become a curator, consultant, critic, educator, or researcher, with the following competencies:

Able to apply advanced knowledge and technology as a problem-solving paradigm in research and development activities;

Able to utilize acquired knowledge as a foundation for advancing the governance of arts, design, and culture;

Capable of conducting research and development activities in accordance with scientific procedures, including the development of research tools, instrument calibration, data collection, and data analysis aligned with research objectives; and

Competent in disseminating research and development outcomes that contribute to society and scientific knowledge, while achieving national and international recognition.
Expert in Arts Governance
An expert in the governance of arts, design, and culture, projected to become an entrepreneur, manager, auditor, and/or archivist in various platforms such as events, festivals, production houses, galleries, and outlets—both conventional and digital—with the following competencies:

Able to plan, organize, administer, market, document, and evaluate professional activities, events, or enterprises in the fields of arts, design, and culture; and

Capable of establishing and developing institutions in the governance of arts, design, and culture that are character-driven, excellent, and reputable.
