Description

The Fashion Design Study Program at ISI Bali has quality and high-standard educational implementation aimed at producing vocational bachelor students based on the Cultural Identity of Indonesia in creating fashion works. A holistic and measurable frame of mind forms the basis for the achievement strategy of the Fashion Design Study Program at ISI Bali. The achievement strategy is carried out as follows:

  • Providing socialization and understanding to the academic community about the vision, mission, goals, and targets.

  • Preparing a curriculum relevant to the vision, mission, goals, and targets to be achieved.

  • Improving the quantity and quality of Human Resources.

  • Fulfilling facilities and infrastructure needs, such as practical equipment to support courses.

  • Using Faculty SOPs for every activity in the teaching and learning process and various guidelines to implement the Tri Dharma of Higher Education to achieve the vision, mission, goals, and targets.

    VISION

    To become a center for the creation, presentation, and development of Fashion Design, which possesses the singularity (uniqueness) of local cultural identity based on national character and enriches humanitarian values in accordance with the times and global competitiveness.

    MISION

    • Enhancing knowledge, technology, and arts insight through Fashion Design learning, as well as producing professional graduates ready to compete in the workforce.

    • Conducting research and community service by understanding and developing the potential of local uniqueness in creating creative and innovative Fashion Design.

    • Optimizing the organization to improve the performance and productivity of the Fashion Design Study Program, achieving optimal performance to anticipate global developments, and developing cooperation with related institutions.

    Fashion Designer

    Able to work as a professional fashion designer, both in companies and in privately owned businesses.

    Patternmaker

    Able to work as a pattern maker for men’s, women’s, and children’s fashion; both manually and digitally, according to the needs of the fashion industry.

    Textile Designer

    Able to work as a textile designer with skills in both traditional and digital creation, according to the needs of the fashion industry.

    Fashion Stylist

    Able to work as a stylist/fashion stylist, including traditional, modern, and contemporary makeup and hair styling.

    Fashion Illustrator

    Able to work as a fashion illustrator through creation using both manual and digital techniques.

    Fashion Consultant

    Able to work as a fashion consultant who understands the cultural, historical, trend, business, and production technique aspects within the fashion industry.

    Fashion Journalist

    Able to work effectively as a journalist, critic, or curator with insight and knowledge about the fashion industry.

    Fashion Design Study Program

    Dr. A. A. Ngr. Anom Mayun K.Tenaya

    A. A. Ngr. Anom Mayun K. Tenaya completed his Doctoral Program at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Bali from 2017 to 2022. He currently serves as a Lektor (Associate Lecturer) III D at the Faculty of Fashion Design, ISI Bali. In addition to his academic role, Anom Mayun is also an active fashion designer and curator at the Bali Museum. His creative works include Balinese Wedding Attire for the Indonesian Embassy in Japan (Tokyo, April 4, 2023), the textile painting Puspitagra exhibited at the Shanghai Art Collection Museum (June 2024), and the textile painting Nalang Sarira showcased at the Jakarta Art Show, JIExpo Kemayoran (2024). His written works include Gaya Wastra Parhyangan, Collection of the Bali Museum (UPTD Museum Bali – Department of Culture, Bali Province, 2021); “Western Fashion Hegemony in the Aristocratic Attire of North Bali (1800–1940),” published in MUDRA: Journal of Cultural Arts, Vol. 36, No. 2 (May 2021); and “Classic Jewelry Aesthetics on Payas Agung Badung,” published in LEKESAN: Interdisciplinary Journal of Asia Pacific Arts, Vol. 5, Issue 1 (April 2022).

    Dr. Tjok Istri Ratna C.S., S.Sn., M.Si

    Dr. Tjok Istri Ratna C.S., S.Sn., M.Si., specializes in fashion design and traditional textiles (wastra). Born in Denpasar on July 8, 1970, she completed all her higher education at Udayana University. Her doctoral dissertation, “Frangipani: The Secret Step of Art Fashion,” has become a widely referenced method in the field of fashion creation. She has served as a speaker at numerous national and international seminars and has published several books, including “Kain Bebali: Doa dan Harapan” (2019). In addition to her role as a lecturer and researcher, Ratna is also actively involved in creating art fashion works, such as Tutur Bumi, which reflects her dedication to preserving the heritage of wastra bebali.

    Dr. Ida Ayu Kade Sri Sukmadewi,S.Sn.,M.Erg

    Ida Ayu Kade Sri Sukmadewi is a lecturer in the Fashion Design (D4) Program, Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Bali. She earned her Bachelor’s degree (S1) in Fine Arts and Design, majoring in Interior Design, from Udayana University in 1996. She completed her Master’s degree in Ergonomics and Work Physiology at Udayana University in 2006 and obtained her Doctorate in Cultural Studies from the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Udayana University, in 2021. In 2009, she received recognition as the second-place Outstanding Lecturer at the Faculty level and third-place Outstanding Lecturer at the Institute level. Her research focuses on environmentally friendly fashion and sustainable design rooted in local wisdom and cultural values. She actively writes scholarly journal articles, publishes books, and creates innovative fashion design works.

    Drs. Tjokorda Gde Abinanda Sukawati, M.Sn.

    Tjok Abi is a fashion designer and educator who is actively engaged in both the Indonesian and international fashion scenes. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Management from Trisakti University, Jakarta, and pursued Fashion Design studies at Cavendish College, London. He later obtained a Master of Arts degree from the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Denpasar, where he has been teaching since 2012. His fashion works have been featured in major events such as Indonesian Fashion Week, the London & Den Haag Fashion Shows, and the Dubai Fashion Show. He was recognized by Fashion TV as one of Indonesia’s Top 10 Fashion Designers and has served as a speaker and judge in numerous fashion seminars, competitions, and festivals, including the Buleleng Festival, Bali Arts Festival, and the Provincial LKS Fashion Technology competition. As both an educator and practitioner, Tjok Abi continues to bridge academia and industry through innovative, culturally rooted fashion design.

    Dewa Ayu Putu Leliana Sari, S.Pd., M.Sn

    Dewa Ayu Putu Leliana Sari is a lecturer in the D4 Fashion Design Program, Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Bali. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Education from the Department of Family Welfare Sciences, Faculty of Engineering, State University of Jakarta, and her Master’s degree with a concentration in Artistic Creation from ISI Bali. She teaches courses including Sewing Techniques, Fashion Pattern Making, Women’s and Children’s Clothing, Performance Costumes, Textile Design, Creative Textiles, Tailoring, and Draping. Her research focuses on environmentally friendly fashion and sustainable design rooted in local wisdom and cultural values. She is also active in writing scholarly journal articles and books, as well as creating innovative fashion design works.

    Made Tiartini Mudarahayu S.Sn., M.Sn

    Made Tiartini Mudarahayu, S.Sn., M.Sn., completed her Master’s degree in the Art Studies Program at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Denpasar in 2018. With a background in Fine Arts, Tiar integrates art and fashion, focusing her expertise on fashion illustration. She actively participates in various exhibitions and performances at both national and international levels. In 2025, she took part in the International Exhibition Bali Padma Bhuwana V and Kantya Samasta Kanta, and also served as a costume designer for the intermedium performance Paras–Bumi–Pamor. In addition to her creative practice, Tiar contributes to academia through the publication of scientific articles in national proceedings and journals, as well as writing educational books, including “Buku Ajar Penciptaan Busana Wanita” (Women’s Fashion Creation Textbook).

    Ni Kadek Yuni Diantari, S.Tr.Ds., M.Sn

    Ni Kadek Yuni Diantari, S.Tr.Ds., M.Sn., is an Assistant Expert Lecturer in the Fashion Design Program, Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Bali. She earned her Master’s degree in Art, specializing in Fashion Design Creation, and is actively engaged in research and creative projects within the fashion field. Her current research focuses on issues of fast fashion and contemporary fashion trends, which have been published in national journals and international proceedings. In addition to her academic work, she consistently produces fashion design creations showcased in both national and international exhibitions. Through the integration of research and creative practice, she aims to make a meaningful contribution to the advancement of fashion scholarship and the development of Indonesia’s fashion industry.

    Ni Putu Darmara Pradnya Paramita, S.Tr.Ds., M.Sn

    Ni Putu Darmara Pradnya Paramita, S.Tr.Ds., M.Sn., is a lecturer in the Fashion Design Program, Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Bali. She earned her Applied Bachelor’s degree (D4) in Fashion Design and her Master of Arts degree in Fashion Design Creation from ISI Denpasar. Her academic publications include The Potential of Natural Resources in Nusa Penida as Textile Color Pigments (2021) and Berbudi Bawa Leksana: Balinese Traditional Attire for the Office—Stylish, Affordable, and Sustainable (2022). She is also the author of the textbook Women’s Fashion Creation (2022). Her creative fashion works, Nawa Rupa and Parahita—women’s garments made from traditional Balinese textiles—have been exhibited in several showcases. In addition to her academic and creative pursuits, she is actively involved as a resource person and judge in various fashion training programs and competitions.

    Ida Ayu Ari Mahadewi, S.Tr.Ds.,

    Ida Ayu Ari Mahadewi, S.Tr.Ds., M.Sn., completed her Master of Arts at the Postgraduate Program of the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Denpasar in 2021 and was officially appointed as a civil servant lecturer in 2025. With a background in fashion design, she focuses her expertise on the field of fashion illustration. The year 2025 marks the beginning of her active participation in exhibitions and art performances, including the Bali Padma Bhuwana V International Exhibition and the design of intermedium costumes for Paras–Bumi–Pamor. She is currently designing costumes for B-GAAD 2025. In addition to her creative practice, she contributes academically through her scholarly article Transformation of Balinese Kebaya Design and serves as a speaker in fashion design training programs for MSMEs in Badung.

    Ni Luh Ayu Pradnyani Utami

    Ayu joined the Fashion Design Program at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Bali as a lecturer in 2023 and is also an active fashion designer developing contemporary fashion rooted in cultural heritage. She began her higher education at ISI Denpasar in 2013 through the applied undergraduate program and earned her Master of Arts degree in 2019. Her passion for fashion and fine arts has led her to participate in various exhibitions, including Berdikari Negeri organized by the Ministry of Education (2024), B-GIDME: Bali Global Innovative Design Map Exhibition (2024), and Bali Bhuwana Rupa: International Art and Design Exhibition (2025). In addition to exhibitions, she actively engages in research and publishes scholarly articles. Ayu’s creative focus lies in ready-to-wear fashion design that fuses traditional values with modern aesthetics, producing works that are both relevant and culturally grounded. As an academic and creator, she continues to bridge practice and research through contextually sustainable fashion design.

    Ni Putu Dyah Pradnya Candriasih, S.Tr.Ds., M.Sn

    Ni Putu Dyah Pradnya Candriasih, S.Tr.Ds., M.Sn., is an assistant expert lecturer who completed her Master of Arts degree in Art Creation – Fashion Design at the Postgraduate Program of the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Denpasar in 2021. Dyah focuses on developing fashion design creations through digital pattern construction inspired by virtual technology, aiming to enhance designers’ efficiency, creativity, and innovation within Indonesia’s fashion industry. Currently, she is serving as a costume designer for the upcoming performance at B-GPAM 2025.
