DesCRIPTION

The Applied Bachelor (D-4) Animation Study Program at ISI Bali, established in 2022, is part of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design and was opened based on the Decree of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia Number 105/D/OT/2022. This study program holds great potential in developing the creative industry sector, particularly in animation, in Bali.

By implementing the Kampus Berdampak curriculum, the program is committed to sustainably carrying out the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, especially in the priority subsector of the creative industry—Animation. The program is also dedicated to facilitating students in applying the skills and knowledge they have acquired through collaborations with both local and national creative industries, providing relevant hands-on experience, and bridging the gap between academia and the ever-evolving needs of the animation industry.

VISION

To establish the Animation Study Program as a center of excellence in the field of animation, based on the Merdeka Kampus Berdampak framework, Balinese local culture, and global competitiveness.

MISION

  • To provide quality higher education aimed at promoting and developing Balinese traditional culture as a competitive advantage on a global scale.

Graduate Profile

Graduates of the Applied Bachelor (D-4) Animation Study Program are capable of initiating, planning, designing, producing, and presenting creative and innovative animations that are rooted in local wisdom and globally competitive. They also possess the competence to design animations as a means to address societal issues related to the field of animation.

As graduates of the Applied Bachelor (D-4) Animation Study Program at the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, ISI Denpasar, they play roles as Researchers, Creators, Presenters, Mentors, and Entrepreneurs in the field of animation, grounded in local wisdom and equipped for global competitiveness, in alignment with the vision, mission, goals, and objectives of the study program.

Researcher and Supervisor

As Researchers and Mentors, they possess analytical competencies and are projected to become consultants who can work as researchers, writers, educators (academics), and concept developers.

Creator

As Creators, they are projected to become Animation Designers and can play a role in formulating animation knowledge through the practice of animation creation, as well as working as illustrators, animators, YouTubers, game designers, and content creators.

Presenter and Entrepreneur

As Presenters and Entrepreneurs, they possess analytical competencies and are projected to become entrepreneurs, advertisers, creativepreneurs, and art directors. These graduates have job opportunities in advertising companies, mass media, production houses, distro shops, and studios at local, national, and international levels.

Animation Study Program

I Gede Agus Indram Bayu Artha, S.Sn., M.Sn

I Gede Agus Indram Bayu Artha, S.Sn., M.Sn. Lahir di Tabanan, mempunyai hobi menggambar adalah modal untuk menekuni dunia ilustrasi. Dari kecil menggambar selalu menjadi Kegiatan yang disukai, sampai akhirnya mengikuti lomba-lomba dari tingkat SD sampai SMA. Hobi menggambar ini juga mengantarkan menjadi seorang dosen di perguruan tinggi seni yang ada di Denpasar. Menjadi seorang dosen dan ilustrator memang menjadi cita-cita dari kecil. Sejak tahun 2015 sudah menjadi Dosen Animasi & Desain Komunikasi visual di ISI  Bali, mulai tahun 2008 menjadi Guru Multimedia di SMA PGRI 6 Denpasar. Selanjutnya menjadi dosen di tahun 2015 sampai sekarang dengan mengampu matakuliah dianimasi dan desain komunikasi visual. Sudah menghasilkan beberapa buku ilustrasi dan 2 buku cerita bergambar tahun 2023 dan 5 buku cerita bergambar tahun 2024 Balai Bahasa Provinsi Bali. 

I Putu Arya Janottama, S.Sn., M.Sn

I Putu Arya Janottama, S.Sn., M.Sn. Menempuh pendidikan S1 di Jurusan DKV ISI Denpasar dan S2 di Jurusan Pengkajian Seni Pasca Sarjana ISI Denpasar. Beberapa pameran yang diikuti antara lain: Pameran di OPUA Library University Okinawa Jepang (2016), Festival Bali Jani (2018), Pameran Virtual Tumpah Rasa Covid-19 (2020), Bali Dwipantara Adirupa (2021), dan Bali Natta Bhuwana di Universitas Kristen Petra Surabaya (2022). Aktif sebagai juri sampai saat ini, dalam lomba poster, lomba infografis, kemasan tradisional, mewarnai, animasi, dan seleksi ilustrator buku cerita, baik di tingkat provinsi nasional, dan internasional, termasuk di festival Adikara Rupa,FSLLLN, KOPMA, KS2O dan Bulan Bahasa Bali

Dr. Gede Pasek Putra Adnyana Yasa, S.ST., M.Sn.

Dr. Gede Pasek Putra Adnyana Yasa, S.ST., M.Sn. Menamatkan pendidikan D4 Animasi di Institut Teknologi Bandung, Program Pascasarjana (S2) di Institut Seni Indonesia Denpasar, Pengkajian Seni Animasi. Meraih gelar Doktor di Program Doktor (S3) Kajian Budaya, Fakultas Ilmu Budaya Universitas Udayana kepakaran Animasi dan Budaya Populer. Aktif publikasi ilmiah di Jurnal Nasional dan Internasional. Karya buku: Modeling dan Animasi dengan Autodesk Maya 2014; Animasi, Hypergraph:Hierarchy Maya 3D; Buku Ajar Wawasan Animasi. Bookchapter: Branding Bali dan Budaya Populernya; Desain Komunikasi Visual Era Society 5.0; Dasar-Dasar Animasi: Prinsip, Proses, dan Praktik Kreatif; Mengenal Animasi: Teknik, Teknologi, dan Produksi; Desain Multimedia Anak: Kreatif, Interaktif, dan Inovatif.

Gede Lingga Ananta Kusuma Putra, S.Sn., M.Sn.

Gede Lingga Ananta Kusuma Putra, S.Sn., M.Sn. mulai menjadi dosen di ISI Denpasar sejak tahun 2022, mendapatkan gelar sarjana dan megister di Institut Seni Indonesia Denpasar. Prestasi Nasional & Internasional yang pernah diraih, yaitu Juara 1 Lomba Mural Digital G20 (2022), Juara 1 Lomba Poster Digital BNPB Indonesia ajang Tangguh Award (2022), Juara 1 Lomba Desain Poster Koenjent Indonesia Tiongkok  (2022), Juara 1 Lomba Cipta Maskot KPU Kota Denpasar (2015), Juara 2 Lomba Ilustrasi Gramedia (2022), Juara 2 Lomba Animasi Penerbit Erlangga, Nominator Animasi PLN. Hingga saat ini Sudah menghasilkan 33 buku ilustrasi dan komik, serta 60 buku cerita bergambar dari Balai Bahasa Provinsi Bali.

I Made Hendra Mahajaya Pramayasa, S.Sn., M.Sn.

I Made Hendra Mahajaya Pramayasa, S.Sn., M.Sn. merupakan  dosen Institut Seni Indonesia Bali pada Program Studi Animasi. Menamatkan pendidikan magister di Institut Seni Indonesia Denpasar. Aktif melaksanakan penelitian dan menulis artikel ilmiah yang dipublikasikan pada jurnal nasional dan internasional. Aktif mengikuti pameran skala lokal, nasional, maupun international, seperti pameran Natural Colour, pameran Perupa Bali, Pameran FKI, pameran Bhuwana Kanti Bhakti Tirta Bhuwana, pameran Bali Sangga Dwipantara II, pameran internasional Surya Segara Rupa. Aktif membuat gambar ilustrasi untuk buku cerita anak. Karya buku ajar;  Mengenal Animasi: Teknik, Teknologi, dan Produksi.

Vanesa Martida, S.Si., M.Sn

Vanesa Martida, S.Si.,M.Sn menyelesaikan studi sarjana di Universitas Udayana dan magister Seni di ISI Bali (2023) dan kini mengajar di Program Studi Animasi Fakultas Seni Rupa dan Desain ISI Bali. Tahun 2012 hingga 2019 aktif di Bentara Budaya Bali, serta menjadi tim kreatif Pesta Kesenian Bali (2020–2024) dan Festival Bali Jani (2019–2024). Karya seni medianya Jaje Sarad dipamerkan dalam Artidentity (2021). Aktif berkarya audio visual, ia menghasilkan sejumlah film pendek dan dokumenter, termasuk Tantri (2023), Sahasra Warsa Seni Lukis Batuan (2023), Wingkang Ranu (2024), dan I Made Sija, Sang Guru Loka (2024).

About Animation Study Program

Superiority

The Animation Study Program (Prodi) for the Applied Undergraduate Program at the Faculty of Art and Design, the Indonesian Art Institute, Denpasar, was opened by Decree of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia Number 105/D/OT/2022.

The Animation Study Program of the ISI Denpasar Applied Undergraduate Program raises local stories, namely in the form of Balinese folklore originating from palm-leaf palm leaves as well as folklore in the Archipelago as the theme of the story (storytelling). Producing animated works with distinctive characters that are characteristic of Indonesian culture. With regard to the technical aspects of the embodiment of 2D and 3D animation works, local tradition-based depiction techniques will be put forward assisted by the latest technological developments.

Animation Study Program The Applied Undergraduate Program also collaborates with international corporate partners. This collaboration includes Merdeka Learning Merdeka Campus activities. This activity provides an opportunity for students to develop the knowledge they have acquired professionally in the world of work.

Graduate Prospects

Graduates of the Animation Study Program, Applied Bachelor Program FSRD ISI Denpasar, are competent as creators, coaches, and entrepreneurs in the field of animation. Creator refers to competencies as: 2D & 3D animator, director, storywriter, scriptwriter, inbetweener, storyboard artist, digital illustrator, character designer, 3D modeling designer (3D modeler), 3D rigger, layout artist, lighting artist, compositor, art director, creative director, sound engineer, image editor (video editor), visual effects 2D & 3D artist, concept artist, and animation supervisor. Coaches refer to competencies as: teachers (academicians), tutors, trainers, instructors, cultural instructors, and drafters. Entrepreneurial actors refer to competence as producers, entrepreneurs, creativepreneurs, and art directors. The scope of these three graduate profiles has a job market including: animation companies, animation studios, production houses, and audio-visual studios on a local, national and international scale

Kurikulum

To Support the Profile of Graduates of Animation Study Program for Applied Bachelor Programs that are relevant to the uniqueness or superiority of the study program, namely based on local culture by prioritizing folklore narratives (classic story telling), so that a curriculum structure is designed through the following distribution of subjects each semester.
