The President of the Republic of Indonesia, General (Ret.) Prabowo Subianto, signed the Presidential Regulation Number 14 of 2025 regarding the renaming of Institut Seni Indonesia Denpasar to Institut Seni Indonesia Bali. This coincided with the holy day of Pagerwesi nemu Purnama Sasih Kawulu, and was promulgated in the State Gazette of the Republic of Indonesia Year 2025 Number 21.

Prof. Dr. I Wayan Adnyana, S.Sn., M.Sn., presented the ISI BALI logo sketch, which was a refinement of the initial design made on 24 December 2024 in Petcabu, Thailand. The sketch incorporated input from the leadership of ISI Denpasar (Dr. Anak Agung Gede Rai Remawa, Prof. Dr. Drs. I Ketut Muka, M.Si., Prof. Dr. I Komang Sudirga, S.Sn., M.Hum., Drs. I Made Ruta, M.Si., and I Made Berata, S.Sn., M.Sn.) and was digitized by Wahyu Indira, S.Sn., M.Sn.

The Minister for Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (Menpan-RB) submitted the draft Presidential Regulation regarding the name change from Institut Seni Indonesia Denpasar to Institut Seni Indonesia Bali to the President through Letter Number: B/1655/M.KT.01/2024, dated 4 December 2024.

A plenary meeting was held online to discuss the draft of the Presidential Regulation, as per the invitation from the Director General of Legislation, Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Number: PPE.PP.02-3592, dated 22 November 2024. This cross-ministerial meeting involved the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform, the Secretariat of State, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, as well as ISI Denpasar. The meeting produced a Harmonisasi draft regulation submitted to the President.
The Minister of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia, through the Director General of Legislation, issued Letter Number: PPE.PP.02-3645, dated 26 November 2024, conveying the Harmonisasi results to the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform. The letter confirmed that the draft Presidential Regulation complied with legislative requirements and was declared complete.

An inter-ministerial committee meeting was held online to draft the Presidential Regulation regarding the name change, following the invitation from the Deputy for Institutional Affairs and Governance, Number B/1121/KT.01/2024, dated 3 September 2024. This was a follow-up to the discussion on 19 June 2024. The meeting produced a draft regulation for submission to the Ministry of Law and Human Rights for Harmonisasi.

A coordination meeting was held in accordance with the invitation of the Acting Secretary of the Deputy for Institutional Affairs and Governance, Letter No. B/691/KT.01/2024 dated 12 June 2024, to follow up on the letter from the Ministry of State Secretariat No. B 278/M/D-1/HK.03.03/06/2024 dated 11 June 2024 regarding the Approval of the Initiative Permit for the Drafting of the Presidential Regulation concerning the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Bali. The meeting took place at Le Meridien Hotel Jakarta. The meeting resulted in the Initial Draft of the Presidential Regulation on the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Bali.

The Ministry of State Secretariat issued Letter No. B 278/M/D-1/HK.03.03/06/2024, dated 11 June 2024, regarding the Approval of the Initiative Permit for the Drafting of the Presidential Regulation concerning the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Bali. The letter also instructed that an inter-ministerial/inter-agency committee meeting be held no later than 14 (fourteen) days after receiving the approval and that the drafting of the Presidential Regulation must be completed within 2024.

M. Thursday to Saturday (Wrespati Wage Medangkungan to Saniscara Umanis Medangkungan), 2–4 May 2024

A meeting was held to draft the Ministerial Regulation on the Organization and Governance (OTK) of the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Bali at Sthala, Tribute Portfolio Hotel, Ubud, Bali. The meeting involved the Head of the Administrative Subdivision, Junior Expert Policy Analyst, First Expert Human Resources Analyst, and Data and Information Processing Staff from the Bureau of Organization and Governance, along with the Rector and Leadership Team as well as staff from ISI Denpasar responsible for drafting the OTK. The meeting resulted in the Final Draft of the Ministerial Regulation on the OTK of ISI BALI.

A follow-up meeting was held regarding the proposed organizational restructuring of the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Denpasar within the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. The meeting was conducted online in accordance with the invitation of the Acting Secretary of the Deputy for Institutional Affairs and Governance, Letter No. B/440/KT.01/2024, dated 3 April 2024. This meeting was a follow-up to the previous discussion on the proposed restructuring held on 2 April 2024.

O. Tuesday (Anggara Wage Pahang), 2 April 2024

A meeting was held to discuss the proposed organizational restructuring of the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Denpasar within the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology at The Grove Suites by Grand Aston, Jakarta, in accordance with the letter from the Acting Secretary of the Deputy for Institutional Affairs and Governance, No. B/411/KT.01/2024, dated 28 March 2024. This was an inter-ministerial meeting involving the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology together with ISI Denpasar; the Ministry of State Secretariat; the Ministry of Finance; and the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform.

In accordance with the letter from the Acting Head of the Bureau of Organization and Governance, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, No. 43805/A4/OT.00.01/2023, dated 17 December 2023, regarding the Discussion of the Faculty Organizational Structure, the ISI Denpasar team attended an online meeting to discuss the Faculty Organizational Structure. In this meeting, the organizational structure of the faculties within ISI Denpasar was approved in accordance with the official document that had been previously submitted.

The Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology issued Letter No. 34545/MPK.A/ OT.00.01/2023, dated 10 October 2023, regarding the Proposal for Changes to the Nomenclature and Organizational Restructuring of the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Denpasar, addressed to the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform. This letter was a follow-up to Letter No. B/932/M. KT.01/2023 dated 16 August 2023. The proposal was accompanied by the Academic Manuscript on the Proposed Change of the Nomenclature of the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Denpasar to the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Bali and the Organizational Restructuring of ISI Denpasar.

The Director General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology issued Letter No. 0874/E.E1/ OT.00.01/2023, dated 25 September 2023, regarding the Establishment of a Postgraduate Program at ISI Denpasar, as a follow-up to the Rector of ISI Denpasar’s Letter No. 8015/IT5/OT.00.01/2023, dated 28 August 2023, concerning the Request for Recommendation for the Establishment of a Postgraduate Management Unit. In this letter, the Director General approved and recommended the establishment of a Postgraduate Program at ISI Denpasar.

The Director of Institutional Affairs, Directorate General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology, issued Letter No. 4862/E3/DT.03.02/2023, dated 13 September 2023, regarding the Recommendation on the Proposed Organizational Structure Arrangement (OTK) of the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Denpasar, addressed to the Acting Secretary of the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology.

T. Tuesday (Anggara Paing Pujut), 29 August 2023

The Rector of ISI Denpasar submitted a Request for Change of Nomenclature and Organizational Arrangement through Letter No. 8080/IT5/OT.00.01/2023, dated 29 August 2023, regarding the Request for Change of Nomenclature of ISI Denpasar and Organizational Arrangement. The letter was addressed to the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology and was accompanied by the Academic Manuscript on the Change of Nomenclature of the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Denpasar to the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Bali and Organizational Arrangement. The Academic Manuscript provided a detailed explanation of the proposed organizational arrangement of ISI BALI according to its needs. The 278-page manuscript also included annexes containing data from ISI Denpasar to support the organizational arrangement.

The Rector of ISI Denpasar submitted a Request for Recommendation for the Establishment of a Postgraduate Management Unit as part of the supporting documents for the Academic Manuscript on the Change of Nomenclature of the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Denpasar to the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Bali and Organizational Arrangement, through Letter No. 8015/IT5/OT.00.01/2023, dated 28 August 2023.

A Meeting on the Preparation of the Organizational Arrangement Document for ISI Denpasar was held in accordance with the Rector of ISI Denpasar’s Letter No. 7966/IT5/OT.00.01/2023, dated 25 August 2023, regarding the Meeting Invitation. In this meeting, all participants brought supporting data from their respective work units to facilitate the preparation of the organizational arrangement document for ISI Denpasar, making the preparation of the Academic Manuscript more effective and efficient.

Following up on the letter from the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) No. B/932/M.KT.01/2023 dated 16 August 2023 regarding the Proposal for the Change of Nomenclature of the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Denpasar and the Improvement of Faculty Nomenclature at the University of Mataram, the Acting Head of the Bureau of Organization and Governance, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek), held a Coordination Meeting on the Organizational Arrangement of ISI Denpasar through Letter No. 27751/A4/OT.00.01/2023, dated 22 August 2023, regarding the Organizational Arrangement of ISI Denpasar. The meeting was held at The 101 Hotel Jakarta Sedayu Darmawangsa, Jalan Darmawangsa IX No. 14, Kebayoran Baru, Jakarta. The meeting involved the Acting Head of the Bureau of Organization and Governance and staff; the Coordinator of Legal Affairs, Governance, and Personnel of the Secretariat of the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology and staff; staff of the Directorate of Institutional Affairs, Directorate General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology; the Rector of the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Denpasar along with the Vice Rector for General Affairs and Finance, and staff from the Bureau of General Affairs and Finance. During the discussion, the Acting Head of the Bureau of Organization and Governance conveyed that, in addition to submitting the proposal for changing the nomenclature of ISI Denpasar to ISI BALI, it should also be accompanied by the Academic Manuscript on the Organizational Arrangement of ISI BALI. In response, the Rector of ISI Denpasar stated that ISI Denpasar would complete and submit the Academic Manuscript on the Change of Nomenclature of ISI Denpasar to ISI BALI and the Organizational Arrangement within four (4) days, by 29 August 2023.

The Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (Menpan-RB) issued Letter No. B/932/M. KT.01/2023, dated 16 August 2023, regarding the Proposal for the Change of Nomenclature of the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Denpasar and the Improvement of Faculty Nomenclature at the University of Mataram, addressed to the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Mendikbudristek). In the Menpan-RB letter, it was stated that the proposal to change the nomenclature of the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Denpasar to the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Bali needs to be further studied, taking into consideration urgency, needs, and alignment with future government policies, vision, and mission, in accordance with the President’s directive through the letter from the Minister of State Secretariat No. B-610/M/D-1/HK.03.00/06 dated 27 June 2023 on the structuring of organizations in Ministries/Agencies, and Circular Letter of the Minister of PANRB No. B/842/M.KT/01/2023 dated 27 July 2023 on the structuring of organizations in Ministries/Agencies. Menpan-RB also conveyed that ISI Denpasar should optimize the performance of its services and the implementation of the tri dharma of higher education through established strategies.

The Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Mendikbudristek) issued Letter No. 22925/ MPK.A/OT.00.01/2023, dated 13 July 2023, regarding the Proposal for the Change of Nomenclature of the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Denpasar and the Improvement of Faculty Nomenclature at the University of Mataram, addressed to the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (MenpanRB). In this letter, the Mendikbudristek requested that the Menpan-RB kindly consider and approve the proposed change of the ISI Denpasar nomenclature to ISI BALI without undue delay.

A discussion meeting on the proposal for the change of nomenclature of the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Denpasar to the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Bali was held at the Nata Widya Sabha Room, ISI Denpasar, based on the Letter from the Director of Institutional Affairs, Directorate General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology No. 2937/E3/DT.03.02/2023, dated 8 June 2023, regarding the Invitation to Discuss the Proposal for the Change of Nomenclature of the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Denpasar. The meeting was attended by the Director of Institutional Affairs and staff of the Directorate of Institutional Affairs, Directorate General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology; the Head of LLDIKTI Region VIII and staff; staff from the Secretariat of the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology; staff from the Bureau of Organization and Governance, Secretariat General of Ministry of Education, Culture, Science, and Technology; and the Rector along with the leadership and staff of ISI Denpasar involved in preparing the proposal documents for the change of nomenclature. During the meeting, a video was also presented showing support from various stakeholders endorsing the change of nomenclature from ISI Denpasar to ISI BALI. The meeting concluded with the decision that, in principle, the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology, through the Directorate of Institutional Affairs, agreed to the change of nomenclature of ISI Denpasar to ISI BALI and would soon issue the Recommendation Letter on the Proposal for the Change of Nomenclature.

A focus group discussion involving the Rector of ISI Denpasar and their leadership team, the Deputy Governor of Bali, and the Director General of Higher Education. During this discussion, the idea emerged to change the nomenclature of the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Denpasar (ISI Denpasar) to the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Bali (ISI BALI).
