Karang STSI Denpasar
By virtue of the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Number 0445/0/1988, ASTI Denpasar was elevated to the status of the Indonesian College of the Arts (Sekolah Tinggi Seni Indonesia – STSI) Denpasar. The establishment of STSI Denpasar was formally confirmed through Presidential Decree Number 22 of 1992. During the leadership of Prof. Dr. I Made Bandem, M.A., who served as Chair of STSI from 1988 to 1997, the institution successfully introduced the Bachelor of Fine Arts program (S1) in 1996 and completed the construction of the Natya Mandala Building, Latta Mahosadhi, Nretya Mandala, and Niti Praja Mandala; under the leadership of Prof. Dr. I Wayan Dibia, SST., M.A., who served as Chair of STSI from 1997 to 2002, the Candra Metu Building was successfully constructed. During the tenure of Dr. I Wayan Rai S., M.A., who served as Chair of STSI from 2002 to 2003, the institution successfully added the Photography program (S1) in 2002.
